Abbiamo impostato: a. Calcolare , e . Risolvi l’equazione . b.

Minimising over lines: existence and uniqueness of the line minimising the sum of vertical segment lengths , and the line minimising the sum of distances from the three vertices of a triangle.
The plane is referred to an orthonormal frame . We consider a triangle no side of which is parallel to the axis of ordinates . To every line not parallel to we associate the points , and , intersections of with the parallels to drawn through , and respectively. Show that there exists a unique line for which the sum of the lengths is minimal, and characterise it.
Show that there exists a line for which the sum of the distances from , and to is minimal. Show that this line is unique if is not isosceles, and characterise it.

The butcher who rounds every price to the nearest whole euro: from two found receipts with rounded totals, find all possible whole-euro-rounded prices per kilo of chops and roast, and explain why all the day’s receipts cannot determine the exact prices.
Problem 3: The “round” accounts.
My butcher never counts the cents. For example, I took 300g of fillet at 34.3 euros the kilo, 240g of minced meat at 8.6 euros the kilo, and 640g of chicken breast at 12.99 euros the kilo: I paid 10 euros for the fillet, 2 euros for the minced meat and 8 euros for the chicken, that is 20 euros in all.
- While picking up two receipts dropped on the ground, the butcher reads:
750g of chops, 250g of roast. Total: 18 euros;
250g of chops, 500g of roast. Total: 17 euros. What can the possible prices for the kilo of chops and the kilo of roast be (one will give all the solutions)?
- Why can the data of all the receipts of the day in no case allow one to determine the exact price of each of the products sold?
